“City by the Bay”

Another piece that I was experimenting with and makes a great print on cool surface like wood and metal.  One summer morning the sun was shining through the slats of the chairs in the dining room making spectacular shapes and shadows on the floor.  I got a small canvas and traced the shadows onto the canvas.  The first layer of the painting process was monochromatic with sienna crayons and pencils, then layers of oil sticks and turpentine washes.  I really had no idea what I was doing but the painting resembled a cityscape, bridge and water so as I applied more layers I took to my sketchbook to work some things out abstracting shapes and reflections.  Somehow as the layers of white, smoky grey, Prussian and cerulean blue washes developed, it resembled the marine layer coming in around the Coronado Bridge.  I worked on abstracting the buildings and reflections using oil sticks.  This piece completely started out as a fun tracing of some beautiful shadows creating a memory of a lovely summer morning.  It’s a wonderful example of how work takes shape with no plan what so ever and it completely presented itself.  Exploring Abstract Expression especially after studying Realism and Naturalism have given me the confidence to “paint what I don’t see”.  Painting what I do see and striving to “see” what is really there is still so relevant to my process as an Artist, it’s these explorations and experiments that are shaping my point of view in forging my own path.

The canvas prints meet art galleries’ and museum’s longevity requirements and ensure consistency of shades for up to 200 years old.  The printing process is Giclee with Pigment Ink on a Premium Fine Art Matte Canvas 410g/m2.  Canvas printed images are finished with a semi-gloss varnish.

Acrylic panel images provide an eye popping super vivid print with brilliant luminous colors and fascinating depth.  We use premium polished 99.9% optically pure acrylic for the panels.

High Definition metal prints are printed on ChromaLuxe panels.  They have unmatched color brilliance, superior durability and true generational archival qualities.

No matter the choice of print you choose, all of these types of prints will transform your home or commercial interiors into world-class design experience.
